HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED, POSITIVE & AVOID BOREDOM IN QUARANTINE ~ BLOG COLLAB

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all well.

Today, I am going to be sharing my top tips for staying motivated and happy during quarantine. As humans, we all crave socialisation and being in quarantine or even isolation, can cause our mental health to deteriorate. These tips below will not only help reduce boredom, but will also prove to help improve your mental health in the long-term.

1) Exercise

Try to get outside in the garden or workout indoors. Whether it is running up and down the stairs, or following a YouTube tutorial, exercise is crucial for us as humans. Especially in these times of uncertainty, when it becomes unlikely that we will even be able to run in parks soon, please make sure you stay fit at home! It only takes up 30 minutes of your day and will release endorphins which will boost your general mood and happiness levels.

2) Use your brain

Have a purpose- e.g a project. Dedicate time towards working and being able to work on something, such as a scrap book, will motivate you each day and take up a few hours of your day/week.

3) Sleep

Make sure you are not messing up your sleep schedule. Try to get plenty of sleep. Also, do not watch the news as much as this could increase your anxiety and lead to less sleep. Try to read a book before sleep as it will help you relax and not looking at electronic devices before sleeping can lead to improved sleep.

And finally...

4) Keep a routine, stay connected and do some hobbies!

Make sure you wake up at a similar time every morning and do the same things each day. Although this could lead to boredom, keeping a daily routine can lead to improved mental health. Vary the activities that you do each day to keep active and to prevent boredom.

Now, more than ever, it is essential that we keep in touch with family and friends. Try and chat to your friends over facetime or skype once a day to stay happy and positive and to prevent feelings of isolation and negativity crowd your thoughts.

Whether it is cooking, reading or sewing, make sure you take some time to practice your hobbies! It is a great way to stay happy and productive!

This blog was a collab with Miah Keleigh who has also written a really informative blog with different ideas of how to stay motivated in quarantine! Be sure to check out her blog post here and to follow her Instagram please click here!

I hope this helps! Stay safe & well.
